EMMA SARRAN WEBSTER IS A CHICAGO-BASED WRITER, EDITOR, & MURAL ARTIST
Emma has nearly 20 years of experience in writing and editing, and 1,000+ bylines covering topics including sustainability, travel, wellness, and social justice. She was formerly a Senior Editor at Mic and a Contributing Editor at Teen Vogue, with more work appearing in CNN, New York Magazine, Refinery 29, Cosmopolitan, Allure, WIRED, and Men’s Health, among others.
Emma took a leap of faith to create her first mural — a narrow floor-to-ceiling floral design inside her closet — without training or experience, and fell in love with the medium. Since then, she’s designed, created, and assisted on indoor and outdoor murals throughout Chicago. She finds inspiration in nature, the city around her, and the communities that bring that city to life. She’s equally energized by creating her own designs as she is executing a client's vision (or a combination of both).
Emma brings a vast range of skills to the table, which also include illustrating, audio and video editing, voiceover and audiobook narrating, project management, photography, and Spanish language proficiency.
Before returning to her native Chicago, Emma lived in London, UK, and New York City, and she continues to be passionate about exploring the world, particularly through the realms of sustainable and ethical tourism and outdoor adventure. She’s an enthusiastic advocate of adult hobbies — hers include sewing and upcycling, scuba diving, and music classes.
