Emma has nearly 20 years of experience in writing, editing, and content creation and more than 1,000 bylines in high-profile publications covering topics including sustainability, travel, wellness, and social justice. She was formerly a Senior Editor at Mic and a Contributing Editor at Teen Vogue, with more work appearing in CNN, New York Magazine, Refinery 29, Cosmopolitan, Allure, Bustle, MTV News, Ozy, WIRED, and Men’s Health, among others. She previously worked full-time in both digital advertising and e-commerce retail, and draws on those skills when working with brands such as OXO, Marriott, Adobe, Eagle Creek, and Advertising Week.
Through her unique mix of editorial, marketing, and advertising experience, she’s developed a metabolism for fast-paced newsrooms and a crucial understanding of authentic brand voice development. Emma is as adept at moderating panels with renowned sustainability experts and appearing on live news segments as she is at interviewing A-list celebrities, distilling complex narratives into compelling multi-media stories, writing and curating newsletters, and creating social media content.
Emma brings a vast range of skills to the table, which also including illustrating, audio and video editing, voiceover and audiobook narrating, project management, photography, and intermediate Spanish language.
Before returning to her native Chicago, Emma lived in London, UK, and New York City and continues to be passionate about exploring the world, particularly through the realms of sustainable and ethical tourism and outdoor adventure.
